Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Course
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Course is designed to present the knowledge and clinical skills necessary to become a certified nursing assistant. The curriculum follows Maine guidelines, including:
- caring for the patient's physical systems
- infection control
- care of patients throughout the lifespan
- entering the health care field
The student is introduced to the concepts of legal and ethical aspects of care, communication, documentation, and safety. The state certification examination will be offered at the end of the course. Classes, labs, and clinical practicum will be scheduled on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
